My next book SMUGGLER with Greg Boos will be out in September 2026. Thrilled that HBO optioned the rights for a scripted series

I fully understand how difficult it is to remain focused on any one particular atrocity but this really ought to be a serious scandal and people need to pay heavy prices for this

I think the Trump admin assumed no one would try to find out who the people on the boats they blew up really were

WOW. This entire story is HORRIFIC. This is FOIA of a body cam from the raid in upstate New York the same day as the Hyundai plant. It catches a Border Patrol agent on camera only bragging about denying medical care to migrants detained at the border under Biden — who he says are all "animals."

The agent admits he treats immigrants like "they're animals" and that he tells his kids that they are animals "all the time"

Let’s be clear: What Donald Trump said in public, in plain view, on his own social media feed is more corrupt and dangerous than anything Richard Nixon was caught on tape saying in the White House tapes. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/rid-me-of-...
Rid me of this meddlesome priest, Pam!
How mob boss Trump sped through all of Watergate in just a single weekend.

Unless I'm reading this badly wrong and the administration puts out contrary implementation, it would appear that starting tonight, anyone with an H-1B who doesn't write a $100,000 check to the US government is banned from reentering the country if they're currently outside the US.

from my latest: "The trans-shooter myth largely began circulating in 2023 around the Nashville shooting, 'as the right began rolling back LGBTQ rights in earnest'... Two years later, and just a decade after the so-called trans tipping point, anti-trans harassment and violence is all the rage."
The trans-shooter myth, reports the Trace, a newsroom focused on gun violence, largely began circulating in 2023 around the aforementioned Nashville shooting, “as the right began rolling back LGBTQ rights in earnest.” As I’ve explained previously, trans people are over four times more likely than cis people to be victims of violent assault. Conversely, over the past decade, according to the Gun Violence Project, less than a tenth of one percent of shootings were committed by someone who identified as trans or nonbinary. Nonetheless, last week the Justice Department was reportedly considering how to ban trans people from buying guns.

Two years later, and just a decade after the so-called trans tipping point, anti-trans harassment and violence is all the rage. Trans people are afraid to leave the country, let alone leave their houses. The right-wing ecosystem has gladly spent years creating these conditions, while Democrats have by turns avoided saying anything about them at all or, like in the past week, spending more time mourning the death of a guy who gleefully mocked Nancy Pelosi’s husband being attacked with a hammer than urging caution to protect a population that voted for Kamala Harris second only to Black women. It would almost be surprising, considering those numbers, how quickly 2028 hopeful Gavin Newsom praised Kirk, if Kirk hadn’t been Newsom’s first podcast guest.

I guess I'm not sure if "I wish we could blame an immigrant" really is the message that can lower the temperature in America right now

So nearly everything connecting the killer of Charlie Kirk to the left is just gamer/chan culture. Video games do not cause violence, but the chan culture mixed with America's love of violence does.

It's not the most important part of the issue but Kavanaugh saying "well they should just sue if they're the victims of excessive force from ICE" when he himself has previously voted to bar lawsuits against federal officers for violations of the 4th Amendment in immigration cases takes chutzpah.
The injunction is silent as to the use
of force. And it is not necessary for the injunction to address
that use-of-force question because the Fourth Amendment’s
reasonableness standard continues to govern the officers’
use of force and to prohibit excessive force.
To the extent that excessive force has been used, the
Fourth Amendment prohibits such action, and remedies
should be available in federal court. I agree with the
dissent on that point. But to reiterate, this injunction
against brief stops for questioning does not address the useof-force issue.

Justice Kavanaugh (2025): ethnicity “can be a 'relevant factor' when considered along with other salient factors” in immigration stops.
