Also, while I can sort of do the math on deductibles, out of pocket maxes, copays, coinsurance is such an awful concept from a consumer’s point of view. How can I possibly estimate the cost of medical procedures that I’d be paying coinsurance on? The billing itself isn’t even consistent

I really think that Trams are much nicer than buses, but it’s hard to find a compelling reason to spend for a bus -> tram project when you could just spend more for a much bigger improvement
The Finch LRT will hopefully force Toronto to reckon with two things: that street based transit will *almost* never compete with driving (especially in the burbs) and that people really care about speed. My new piece in the Toronto Star highlights that and makes the case for subways and railways.
