NE MPLS
I caucused for Elliott in his first bid in 2021 and have not regretted it for one second since.
ICE has been back at it with their illegal activity today. Abducting multiple neighbors in the Ward, physically assaulting observers, coming into businesses threatening that they will be back to arrest people for no reason.

If they come back today, they’re going to have to go through me first.

Something I've been trying to impart on people is that the ICE occupation in Minnesota is both an ethnic cleansing and an ideological terror campaign. It's clear that the second part has utterly failed; the community is not terrified. But ICE is now desperately trying to salvage the first part.

Bring it, fucker. My employer, neighborhood, and schools will be... unsurprised.
TOM HOMAN: “We’re going to create a database where those people that are arrested for interference, impeding and assault, we’re going to make them famous. We’re going to put their face on TV. We’re going to let their employers, in their neighborhoods, in their schools, know who these people are.”

WOMEN ARE GIVING BIRTH WITHOUT HELP AT HOME
This Mobile Clinic needs financial support to get to them, and to others too afraid to go to the hospital.
Minnesota request:
People too scared to leave home for medical care. Kids getting very sick. Women missing prenatal & delivering at home w/o support. Mobile Clinic treating people in safety of their homes (under dropdown, click "other,” type "Mobile Health")

The only thing that would make this more of a Congressional Democratic proposal is if they figured out a way to means-test not being shot.
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:

A Dem Senator’s Harsh Takedown of Trump Hits Home: “Breaking Point”
As Trump scrambles to contain the damage from the latest ICE horrors, Senator Chris Murphy offers a sharp indictment of Trump-ICE lawlessness—and explains how Dems can meet the urgency of the moment.

Not a single item on this list appears to be anything other than WHAT THEY WERE ALREADY SUPPOSED TO BE DOING BUT CHOSE NOT TO! How are these "restrictions" in any way? How is this the best they can do with the extraordinary opportunity at hand to make meaningful change? jfc

and the best you can show that is to prevent already incredibly vulnerable people from being evicted from their homes in the coming weeks

To be clear, the demand is:

Get out of Minneapolis
Do not go anywhere else
Disband them
Prosecute all the crimes

And most importantly

GIVE US BACK OUR NEIGHBORS

While glad to see Bovino humbled, I really don’t have any higher opinion of Homan—a cruel, cold, corrupt, calculating bureaucrat who’s devoted more of his career to mass deportation than almost anyone. He’s the architect of child separation.

Bovino’s retirement needs to be a cage. His command environment yielded Renee Good’s death, Alex Pretti’s death & Julio Sosa-Celis’ shooting. Failure to prosecute Bovino & everyone else materially responsible for these atrocities will be understood by ICE, CBP, etc as a green light for the next ones

Over 1,600 evictions have been filed throughout Minnesota from January 1 through January 23.

Filings for January rent have increased dramatically in the past week.

February rent is due soon.

It is still extremely dangerous for our neighbors to be out in public.
I’ve never been prouder to be a Minnesotan.

What a relief that they’re calling for a general de-escalation of tensions, since it’s hard to tell who’s at fault, the people murdering people or the people who aren’t doing the murdering.

INBOX: 60+ CEOs of Minnesota-based company call for "an immediate deescalation of tensions and for state, local and federal officials to work together to find real solutions."

The majority of organizing happening in Minnesota isn’t just peaceful, it’s INVISIBLE. Moms showing up who won’t be interviewed on TV, people whose ICE patrols don’t turn into viral video. The grocery runs, the donations, the people filming bc they happen to be there. Please remember this.
