I think @pattyhajdu.bsky.social fucked up. Big time. Read the room, @mark-carney.bsky.social cause I don’t think people will be happy that you ordered mostly women back to do unpaid work. You’d better have some dynamic speaking points before the milk turns sour

Listen if money was no issue I'd just be commissioning artists and studios to make media that I personally think should exist but will lose money on the market. I'll gladly give you one example per like if you want (I've got like 100 in my head of varying levels of detail)

imo, if someone believes some races or ethnicities are genetically inferior to others, that person has revealed a weakness of mind and character that casts extreme if not irrefutable doubt on their other ideas. why would i expect them to use more rigor on, eg, housing than they do on human nature?

This is correct. Any candidate cynically “triangulating” on trans kids is a non-starter, and now is the time to say so. There’s still so much time to advance candidates that DON’T suck.
I will never, ever vote for Gavin Newsom. Ever, under any circumstances. I don't care if he becomes the Dem nominee, he's still not getting my vote.
On a recent podcast Gavin Newsom tells Shawn Ryan how the Trans sports issue opened the door for him to change his mind on GAC for Trans Youth.

As someone who adored him since 2004 and voted for him 5 times, I can't wait for him to leave office.

There is no way I will be voting for him a 6th time.

Separately and notably, GLAAD — which dropped its opposition to KOSA last year after changes to the bill, easing its path to Democratic support — told me it now wants lawmakers to review the bill in light of "changes in the FTC and other government leadership." www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

The repression of trans people is not, by and large, a grassroots outpouring of hatred from the American people. It's something that's been carefully planted and tended over years by a handful of media people and their pet reporters.
Heightened Scrutiny, a very good doc about the Supreme Court case that was just ruled on, does an impeccable and infuriating job laying out just how culpable the NYT and Atlantic are for the nation’s transphobia www.avclub.com/sundance-202...

ppl (including me) wonder why D messaging is so bad...but I think a big part of the problem re schumer and some others is that they actually do not give a shit about marginalized people and their messaging is a sincere reflection of their indifference. 1
fwiw, Schumer's deleted post is not only insensitive and cruel, it's also wrong.

the attack on trans rights is not a "distraction." harming trans people is a core goal of fascists. it's like saying that the Holocaust was a distraction from Hitler's effort to conquer europe or something.

Not to be whoa is me bc I'll be fine! But trying to pay rent every month means deciding which stories to spend time on, and every single incentive structure on the internet pushes you against challenging power. This is why people end up grifting to the right!
