I am already seeing reporters parrot DHS's version of the story, which is journalistic malpractice. Every story they spun about being under threat in Chicago was either seriously undermined by subsequently revealed evidence or outright proven false in court. Lying is ALWAYS their first move.

Opinion | It’s time to pause the I-94 project
Despite years of community engagement work through the "Rethinking I-94" project, MnDOT plans to rebuild the interstate more or less as it is today. A new vision is needed, Mary Morse Marti writes.

FYI, Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt will be running for re-election in 2026. Filing period starts May 19th and candidates must be licensed as a peace officer in Minnesota. If you know anyone who's qualified and wouldn't suck, maybe recruit them to run?
CALL TO ACTION: Call, text & email Hennepin County Sherrif Dawanna Witt to demand she stop using public resources to enable ICE terror, by unlawfully targeting ICE Watchers and rapid responders who are keeping our community safe from abductions! bit.ly/stopwitt

You know how if a cop wants to pull you over, he can find *something* wrong with your car. Well, if an immigration official wants to find something "fraudulent" about a filing they will—a misremembered date or address, a typo, whatever.

It was still there this morning, so I reported it again. 😔

Very interesting that a simple model taking population and highway lane miles into account predicts VMT as well as more complex models. MnDOT should take note when rethinking 94.
Short, direct, probably surprising and supremely important, @alextburns.bsky.social writes about the (only?) remaining paths to reducing transportation's enormous impacts on the climate. Hint: it's not about electric cars.

Highly recommended. Please share widely.
Opinion: One Less Lane Ought To Fix It — Streetsblog USA
Federal inaction means states must lead on reducing emissions — but their reluctance to reallocate road space for cars may doom climate goals.

I think entirely too much about how California’s climate plan explicitly says that converting to EVs is not nearly enough to meet our greenhouse gas reduction targets so we need to reduce VMT 25% by 2030, and then we do basically nothing to try to achieve that goal
