We're at a place right now where roughly half of the body politic seems to fully believe that snatching people off the street and disappearing them into prison camps is somehow a commensurate payback for having suffered the indignity of having had their vocabularies critiqued.

The mainstream press viewpoint is that no one mainstream is racist, and therefore, as ideas approach the mainstream, they become less racist
i do not think the mainstream press is equipped or capable of covering ideological white nationalists and eugenicists as such, or even capable of noting that this is what they are. it is related to the wide belief that racism is simply a matter of manners.
It would appear CNN was also at the eugenics conference? Why are all these mainstream news orgs at a 200-person event where all the speakers are eugenicists and racists? www.cnn.com/2025/04/11/u...

A US-born citizen was walking near Chicago in January. ICE snatched him off the street, handcuffed him, threw into a van. His wallet, which contained his ID, was confiscated. He was detained for 10 hours before being released without a record of what occurred.

Not hearing enough noise about Mahmoud Khalil from folks who like to quote the "first they came for" poem. Y'all get that the point is that they came for controversial, easily othered groups first, right? Now, it's trans people, immigrants, and student activists. Your turn will come. Fight now.

it's very silly that some people tried to create some guidelines to use language, a tool that we all use, in a way that is more precise and less harmful, and a bunch of people were so offended they decided to burn society to the ground and everyone is like "hmmm maybe they had a point though"
The phenomenon of “leftist language policing” is 99% a product of centrists whining about it constantly. I almost never encounter it in real life and requests for vocabulary updates are typically non-binding guidelines for formal written documents.
This take is worth what you paid for it, but I think the language policing stuff has outsized political significance.

God this is the most “middle schooler who just read 1984” comparison but they’re literally doing the thing. It’s 2+2=5 but for the government.
We highly recommend y’all crack open a copy of the U.S. Constitution before you break anymore laws…

Keep in mind that trans people who were in the process of renewing their passports when this admin took office have essentially had those documents confiscated. This is transparent disenfranchisement of multiple vulnerable groups.

The House of Representatives is considering a bill that will lead to voter purges and widespread disenfranchisement of eligible voters.

The SAVE Act stems from baseless claims of voter fraud and is part of a strategic, well-financed effort to suppress voting.
The SAVE Act Would Disenfranchise Millions of Citizens
The SAVE Act would require all Americans to prove their citizenship with documentation unavailable to millions and upend the way every American citizen registers to vote.

The SAVE Act demands people provide documents that millions of eligible voters don’t have easy access to, such as passports and birth certificates, to register to vote.

This bill is unnecessary — federal and state laws already prevent ineligible people from voting. Congress must reject this bill.

Just wrote an email. We’ve seen these pressure campaigns work with other companies.
If you’re a Visa cardholder you can let them know you won’t be any longer if they do business with fElon. I called and they said they’re taking comments at [email protected]. Maybe if enough of us complain they’ll pull the deal.

2. Centrists gain nothing
3. Far-right wins more power

Stop fucking saying he blamed “DEI,” which is some abstract, non-tangible idea. He is blaming people of color having jobs he thinks they aren’t qualified for. He’s blaming race. He’s being racist every time he says it. Journalists need to get fucking backbones, my word.
