The article itself is pretty negative towards the FDA’s memo, but it’s odd that it doesn’t mention that a bunch of CDC officials resigned in part bc HHS was preparing to claim the COVID vaccines killed children
The NYT definitely made a choice not to add “without evidence” to this headline.

i like how asking "how did capitalism start" requires answering other, much simpler questions like "is capitalism inherent to humanity", "was the industrial revolution a cause or a consequence of capitalism", and "how did every civilization in history conduct and define trade"

It's wild how "our intellectual elite are a bit morally smug" warrants the same article being pushed out saying as much for a decade, but a global paedophile ring in which many of our richest and most powerful and leading minds all took part is, you know, uncouth to talk about.
Someday you, too, could have the moral fortitude to look upon a years-long rape circus organized by the nation's most powerful elites and declare, "The people upset about this are speaking about it the wrong way."

In her resignation statement, MTG breaks very dramatically with the secret-plan conspiracy theorists about what’s happening in DC.

I also think there's a really substantial difference between someone making a harm reductionist argument about how to interact with U.S. electoral politics, and someone arguing the U.S., or the democratic party, is a net-positive force in the world. The former argument is not the latter.
Instinctively recoil from anyone who tries to boil down complex issues to black and white. Even if I generally agree, usually means they’re driven by blind ideology than any sort of practical acknowledgment of reality

Why would they?

It's been demonstrated over and over again that all the Trump administration effectively cares about is announcements on their propaganda networks. Whether the thing is actually going to happen is details, and they are not good at details. China figured that out very quickly.

If the American people remotely care about us, which of course they don't but let's speak in hypotheticals here for five seconds, they will storm the White House and overthrow the fat orange fuck.

The disputes between 'liberals' and 'leftists' over Democrats and Gaza never seem to go anywhere. It looks like an abysmal waste of time and energy. Is the goal just to inflict pain while operating under the veneer of argument? What are people on actually hoping to accomplish with such viciousness?

Rest in Peace, Eden Knight
