Nadhim Zahawi and family fled to the UK from Saddam Hussein's Iraq as a child refugee in 1978. Unable to speak English when he arrived, he became a hugely successful businessman and an MP before serving as Chancellor of the Exchequor.

His origin story is the very antithesis of the Reform narrative.

My favorite factoid is that the average Brit outside of London makes less than the average West Virginian but has to deal with a housing market comparable to California.

America is a country of extreme wealth and extreme inequality, both things can be true at once
I think that this belief is more common than any of us would like to admit and it is also extremely fucking wrong. This is why it’s important to learn about the rest of the world.
all of america is "extremely poor" you dipshit, it's trying to persuade the bulk of this country. You're so detached from reality

Woman in the park: She was 96.
Her friend: 96. I guess she was ready to go.
Woman: Are you kidding? She ordered new curtains last week. When I called her and asked, ‘Are they nice?’ she said, ‘No they're not. I won’t use that company next time I need new curtains.’

Whenever I talk about my experience of middle-age ADHD diagnosis, the replies are always 50/50 "Same happened to me" and "I need to look into this because it sounds very familiar".
So *those* people currently banging the over-diagnosis drum can go and walk barefoot over Lego, quite frankly.

Senior MPs including Kemi Badenoch, Robert Jenrick and Darren Jones are claiming tens of thousands of pounds a year in taxpayer-funded rent expenses while either calling for or implementing benefit cuts on the poorest

Revealed: MPs rack up huge rent expenses while pushing through cuts to benefits
MPs are allowed to rent a second home, but while they are simultaneously cutting benefits for the vulnerable, the cost feels hard to swallow.
