This is the way. Elected officials, no matter how great the campaign or image, aren’t rock stars, they’re public servants. When they fall short of their responsibilities, they should hear about it. Voting is choosing who you’re going to yell at and about and hoping you won’t need to do it too often.
I stg if a single one of you non-New Yorkers try and tell us New Yorkers that we’re not allowed to criticize or yell at Mamdani I’m gonna lose my entire shit at you.

Part of the reason we WANT people like him in office is we can tell him when he fucks up.
I hate to break it to you but today is kind of the last day you get to love Mamdani unconditionally.

Tomorrow you gotta start holding him accountable.

As if artists don't have enough to deal with, Amazon has a "Buy For Me" program in beta which is scraping indie shops for their items and putting them up on Amazon (often incorrectly), for their "AI agent" to buy from the other site. It is NOT opt in, and there is no opt out.
I just found out that our stuff is being sold on Amazon - WITHOUT our consent or any ability to opt out bc Amazon is just scraping artist’s websites and putting our shit in their search results. Again, without our permission.

I love Prince because he would get really strident about social problems in his music but half the time the social problems are like “space shuttles exist” or “numerology has fallen out of fashion”

Didn't plan to watch this all in one go, but Pitzer's analysis and Coates's perspective were so sobering (but not in a huge bummer way) that I just mainlined it. It really clarifies the work for 2026. Thanks @andreapitzer.bsky.social and @thefarce.org.
"People get activated by hate. It's a very, very, very strong force."

One of the most powerful things I heard this year.

Obvious, I know. But Ta-Nehisi Coates put so much into context with this simple truth: hate is why the right has thrived by feeding on the loathing of Trump & the Charlie Kirks.

“How can you suddenly dislike art when you find out it’s made by AI?”

For the same reason I can dislike art when I find out the employees were overworked and underpaid.

Because I care about people.

You dipshit.

Some Dems have told themselves only ~1% of the population is trans so they can dip their toe in the anti-trans filth and come out clean.

I don't have any trans family members—but it still makes me irate. I see it as a huge red flag, a sign you are unprincipled and untrustworthy. And I'm not alone.
We are parents of a trans kid and our family takes this very, very personally. If you intentionally make life harder for our beloved daughter, it’s EXTREMELY hard to think of you as an ally, to say the least. @amyklobuchar.com - you still send us requests for money, while hurting our kid. Disgusted.
Here are the 28 Dem Senators who voted to advance the first federal ban on trans athletes & a federal definition of sex that would make trans & intersex people non-existent: Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Tammy Baldwin (WI), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), Chris Coons (DE), ->

By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).
