Just wanted to show you some analytics.
This is from the Kickstarter campaign I've done this year. Bluesky made for 11% of engagement, while Twitter(X) only left 3%
While it's not tremendous, I would say at first glance, that is pretty significant.

Hadn’t seen this one before. The good news is that we have many smart solutions to address the surrendering of cities to cars that don’t involve tire spikes. But they DO involve actual political will, strengthened by public understanding of the serious need to act. Via @xkcd.com

“Critics have likened Jack the Ripper’s approach to the mass murder of women, while others have chalked it up to the cost of women existing at night in Whitechapel.”

Media in the United States is completely broken.

A crime is a crime. A criminal is a criminal. Media cowardice is media cowardice.
How did the @nytimes.com editors let this sentence appear?

"Critics have likened Mr. Trump’s approach to extortion, while others have chalked it up as a cost of doing business with this administration."

I really need to show this to the person who asked "who wants to live on top of a grocery store?"
This breaks some people’s brains.

In most cities, Costco stores fuel sprawl & car dependency.

In Vancouver, our full-sized downtown Costco has residential towers above & a skytrain station next door. LOTS of customers don’t drive to it.

We live a block from it. We call it “the convenience store.”

I can't get over how quickly the window shifted at Google over what is acceptable from its image generator.

Photorealistic 'evidence' of sensitive events was once a red line.

No longer. "Show the White House on fire with emergency crews responding" returns the desired image with no jailbreak.

It’s not just that people don’t know there are simpler ways to do things. It’s that they’re being TOLD to integrate Ai into everything. I’m reminded, again, of the radium craze. Radium is not magic and nor is Ai. Both are, unfortunately, harmful.

THIS is the inconvenient truth
The most insanely frustrating thing about the #ClimateCrisis is how the breakthrough we so clearly need isn’t technological. It’s just a collective willingness, a determination even, to change in ways that would clearly be SO MUCH BETTER than the clear and obvious consequences of NOT changing.

Sleep is a biological necessity, and sleep deprivation has real physical, psychological, and social consequences that need to be taken seriously. The way our society treats it as slothful to sleep according to natural rhythms (including midday naps and variant chronotypes like night owls) is evil.

Also: if you work for ICE, even if you’re not one of the ones arresting citizens or tackling 15-year-olds or zip-tying kids together and segregating them by race, you’re part of the mechanism making it happen, and you should suffer long-term social and post-regime-change consequences.
Some weirdo on Twitter has been absolutely melting down for like 36 straight hours because I posted:

When this is over, do not forget what ICE did, and what ICE is. And do not make room for them in society. Make sure they know that they are, and will continue to be, reviled and beneath contempt.
