yeah so this one has actually breached into normie discourse world because the people I know who don't follow news at all and usually get current events from me are making unprompted Somali daycare jokes
Trump guys are about to Comet Pizza every third daycare center because they think they are all fronts for Somali money laundering. They're only doing this near cities with progressive mayors. This is straight up Government by LibsOfTikTok.

There's certain kinds of people who believe democracy means that one's moral values should conform to popular opinion. This kind of attitude is anathema to democratic virtue. It's an abdication of responsibility to discern right from wrong. We need people with the courage to stand before the mob.
We're slipping into full-blown gutter racist pogrom politics and the reactions from most of the media/punditocracy/commentariat/elite/influencers/etc has tended from gleeful participation to "well, if that's what the people what it can't be that bad".

This is not hard. Artists are not responsible for ensuring the Kennedy Center remains relevant and successful. The center’s board is responsible for that, in a fiduciary way. All of this energy being directed at artists should be re-directed at the board.

I think we need to establish that for crimes that pass a certain monetary/wtf value, there can be no settlement. It must go to trial, and we must hear from the people responsible, regardless of how long it takes or how inconvenient for them it is.
