1. More Americans work at the Cheesecake Factory than in the entire coal industry, and that won't change. It's because of automation, not snooty libs.

2. Coal energy is now more expensive than wind and solar.

3. So this means: higher energy prices, more pollution, no jobs benefit. Genius!

Energy Secretary Chris Wright on Fox: "We're announcing today expanded programs to help the American coal industry. We're helping it because for years it has been under assault. It was out of fashion with the chardonnay set in San Francisco, Boulder, and NYC ... coal just makes the world go round."

Trump's UN speech was one of his most unfiltered and extended climate denial riffs ever, full of falsehoods, lies and distortions.

“I’m really good at predicting things...I don’t say that in a braggadocios way, but it’s true. I’ve been right about everything.”

‘Con,’ ‘scam,’ ‘hoax’: Trump’s UN speech on climate
The president used a large chunk of his speech to world leaders to condemn climate science and clean energy policies.

„Sadly, the U.S. itself must now be considered an authoritarian petrostate.“
And there is still too many folks gullible enough to fall for the disinformation of the fossil fuel industry.

I'm not sure many folks realize just how persistent the warming from CO2 is.

Here is a set of 1000-year climate model runs (using FaIR) simulating one year of CO2 emissions (40 gigatons in 2020); a millennia later the world has not cooled back down!

New assessment on the biophysical potential of forestation to sequester carbon. As expected, we found just a fraction of what other assessments found, because we considered the obvious no-nos, such as risk to biodiversity, excess water use, and regional warming.

The climate case for planting trees has been overhyped — but it’s not too late to fix it
Reforestation can contribute significantly to tackling climate change, but research found its global potential is only a fraction of what’s been claimed.

If you see it, follow and share. It is legit and has some amazing, credible people behind it trying to plug leaks in the climate science world. Trust me on this one. More is coming....

The Trump regime is systematically crippling & blinding US science wherever science can provide independent information to the US public which the fossil fuel lobby doesn’t like.
A kind of self-harm for which the US will pay dearly for decades to come. Destruction is fast, recovery slow & costly.
