Trump’s only principles are hypocrisy and corruption.

Bombing unmarked boats in the Caribbean one day, pardoning notorious drug traffickers the next.

It’s all the more reason for the Senate to conduct vigorous oversight of this Administration’s actions. And we will.

House Republicans have used their majority to do great harm to everyday Americans.

Complete frauds.

Many white people would rather die than vote for a Black candidate, a woman, or a Democrat in general because we're the party of diversity and inclusion. They don't want equality under the law, they want supremacy. Left-right populism offers that, backed by antidemocratic authoritarian government.
In 2022, Biden earmarked billions of dollars to help former coal communities. It was the largest investment in Appalachia since LBJ's 1960s’ war on poverty.

But Trump won West Virginia 70% to 28% in 2024. And now he's taking away the funding Biden gave them.

When are they going to learn?

#1 'Strong Floor' etc is a blah motto. But...

#2 Mottos for midterms Do Not Matter.

#3 Don't believe #2? Then tell me one "messaging" line from 2022, 2018, 2014, 2010, 2002, etc that you remember.

("Tea party" mattered in 2010, but that was name for a movement, not a "message.")

I genuinely can't believe I have to say this out loud, but I'll bet any amount of money you want that the 2028 Democratic nominee will have their *own* slogans, probably not whatever Hakeem Jeffries likes!

To a non-trivial number anti-anti-Trump pundits, Trump's chaotic response to COVID-19 was preferable to the liberals telling them that the response to a pandemic would require some rules and sacrifices

Court reform & building a media infrastructure to scare voters a la Fox & X would go a long way to assuring Dems a victory in '30, the next election we're at all likely to lose. Court reform is inevitable & creating a media infrastructure is a heavy lift.
I’ll put it this way: I have significantly more optimism that we can beat this particular set of fascists than I do that Dems will do what is necessary not to hand the country right back over to the next batch four year later

Attack from Within: How Disinformation is Sabotaging America
A NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLERUPDATED EDITION: The MSNBC legal analyst explores the impact of disinformation after the 2024 presidential election—and what Americans can do before it’s too late.“A comprehensive guide to the dynamics of disinformation and a necessary call to theethical commitment to truth that all democracies require.” —Timothy Snyder, author of On TyrannyDisinformation—the deliberate spreading of lies disguised as truth, whether from opportunists on the far right, misinformed media influencers, or others—is fragmenting America more than ever before, pushing the nation toward extreme views, civil unrest, and violence. In this bestselling book, now with a new foreword by the author, Barbara McQuade identifies how disinformation is seeping into all facets of our society, causing havoc in our voting systems, schools, hospitals, workplaces, and the Capitol. McQuade, an MSNBC legal analyst and former federal prosecutor confronts the ways disinformation is being weaponized to polarize voters, degrade our legal structures, and leverage the political influence of manipulators and authoritarians. Now newly updated, Attack from Within shows us how to fight back against misinformed, extremist thinking and work toward preserving America’s hard-won democracy.

Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and often the center of our communities and neighborhoods.

Especially now, as Trump’s tariffs are pushing so many local small businesses to the breaking point, let’s all do our part and shop small for Small Business Saturday.

Trump just made flight delays even more miserable, cancelling a Biden program to require customers get compensated for delays.

And now the predictable second act, Trump's refusal to pay.
Imagine the quality of an architect that Trump would pick - and who would want to work for him. Even *that guy* thinks this project is too grandiose.
Even the architect Trump hired to build his massive addition to the White House objects to the president's vision. The two have argued about the size of the 90,000-sq-foot project that would dwarf the mansion. @jonathanreports.bsky.social @ddiamond.bsky.social www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

🎁 link to the WSJ editorial that made Stephen Miller so mad.

"It would be a shame if this single act of betrayal became the excuse for deporting all Afghan refugees...

"Thousands are building new lives here in peace. Collective punishment won’t make America safer."

Insulting to have to point this out, but if you have spent even 30 minutes reading US history, you realize that every decade has been dominated by racist hysteria that the "new" people won't ever fit in.

This exact prejudice would have been applied to Miller's forebears, when they fled pogroms.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization
