As someone who adores enormous games? Seconded. We don't need them in the sheer quantity we have now; not every game benefits from it.
Not every AAA game needs to be 80+ hours long and take 7 years to make and sell ten million copies to hit “targets.” We don’t need to keep doing that.

Every once in a while I show one of these to my electrician roommate just to scare her.

I have long maintained that moral absolutism is the victim of its worst adherents, and in a political system that confers based on heavily funded popularity contests, you at least need to *run* as an absolutist, even if pragmatism of various sorts comes into play during actual governance.

One of the group chats I’m in is convinced that the tell a man is normal and well adjusted in 2025 is if he owns and uses a toilet brush, and this started as a bit but at this point I’m basically convinced that it’s true
My sense is that the “male loneliness crisis” is not really about addressing men’s emotional needs but rather the relatively newfound absence of having someone to perform domestic labor for you quietly in the background now that there is a longer gap between your mother and your wife doing it
