We don’t know the motivations yet, but if this ends up being a situation where a former Afghan ally or refugee who was going to be deported -to be killed by the Taliban- did this horrific attack, it’ll be one more ugly aftershock of the war in Afghanistan & also a reflection of Trump admin policies

The suspect in the shooting of two National Guard members near the White House Wednesday afternoon has been identified as Rahmanullah Lakanwal by law enforcement officials.

Lakanwal, 29, is an Afghan national who entered the U.S. in 2021.
