Multiple friends have caught COVID recently, including some of my more cautious pals. There are a lot of winter germs in crowded places right now, fam. Personally, I never feel that shopping or riding transit unmasked is worth potentially getting sick. You can always renew this practice.

"Romance readers happily shell out three or four times the price of a mass market on deluxe hardcovers with colorfully stained edges on the paper or other embellishments."

No. No. I don't. I buy most of my books used.
just to be clear, this also means that huge numbers of romance titles are now functionally out of print. and sure, romance has always been an ephemeral genre, but this decimates the genre in a very real way.

You should be reading books by queer men if you are reading m/m romance. You should be intentionally be reading diversely when it comes to both BIPOC and trans authors.

Gonna be honest, it did feel a bit like I had been going crazy, especially since even before any of these revelations, a lot of career transphobes were quite openly pedophilic, Germaine Greer self-described as a pederast "like all women of taste", and yet nobody seemed to see the red flags.
You’re not crazy. The anti-trans movement is not organic; it was funded by pedophilic billionaires like Jeffrey Epstein who backed a network of conservatives to accuse the same people they were sexually abusing of being the real danger. @madycast.com exposes the truth in our in-depth report.

Thinking about how Harlequin started and boomed because they published romances in mass market paperback for cheap. 🤔

Thinking about how every major publisher ahas stopped mass market paperback publishing during a Recession and Harlequin is shutting down historical publishing. 🤡

More confirmation today when I ran into an acquaintance neighbor who got extremely nosey when I said I'd had surgery. Turns out he'd helped one of his fellow veteran buddies through his top surgery and getting over a fear of needles by helping give T shots.
Yes, and it continues to confirm my belief that most regular cis people range from completely unaware, clueless/don't care what we do with our own bodies to supportive and uplifting.

As a Seattleite and a trans person, I go out of my way to use these restrooms at SeaTac.

Also WA state law says you can use whatever bathroom *you* are most comfortable in. Not whatever the transphobic wannabe genital inspectors think you should be in.
This is literally more private than any public bathroom
