Absolutely. And we need to unmask the local-community - washing used by big corporations to cover up their polluting practices. Very present across the entire agri-food sector, not just for wine.

Remember that a large proportion of French grape producers ("large" in terms of revenues) are not small communities in beautiful villages but mass producers of industrial alcohol. It serves their shareholders to maintain a false image of winegrower identity.

I am all for helping ailing producers of things that can no longer be produced as easily or for which demand is shrinking, and both spirits and cars are good examples - but why not help them to transition to the production of healthier goods, such as pesticide-free vegetables?

Jon, I am happy to celebrate excellent scientists and extend my best wishes to James and Paul - but can we please stop the hilarious race for citations which are an extremely unfair way to estimate quality and finally benefit high-APC publishers more than anyone else?

"BREAKING: A new UN report finds that Israel’s assault on Gaza—with the destruction of health care, education, infrastructure, even the banking system—has erased 69 years of human development, marking the worst economic collapse ever recorded.

"It's not war: it is genocide."

Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

You might have indicated that this book is 30 years old and from a time when the predatory website you are suggesting as a source had hardly begun to destroy any independent bookselling activity.

Last week, six French scientists stood trial in Munich for a peaceful protest action in 2022.

While companies continue to profit off the destruction of our planet, scientists are prosecuted for alerting the public to the truth.

Watch here the statement by Scientist Rebellion member Hugo Raguet:

“This is the Amazon COP. If it ends with a decision that ignores Indigenous rights and props up offset markets that science says cannot work, it will squander the moral clarity of this moment,” a new op-ed argues.

Singing "Dies Irae" from Verdi's requiem, with Scientifiques en Rebellion @scientifiquesenrebellion.fr and the fantastic Orchestre de Nouveau Monde orchestredunouveaumonde.fr was a perfect way to take notion of government and private sector inaction during the 10 years since the Paris Agreement.
