Excited to finally share my new paper (w/Raphaël Charron-Chénier) out in BJS! Staying Apart for the Kids looks at how older adults consider preserving family wealth in their new relationships. Drawing on my interviews with mid/late-life daters, we show how accumulated wealth shapes dating decisions.

How do you translate that into points?

Give yourself a break. It takes time to adapt and it’ll probably evolve into something better.

I’m planning to do the same thing when I get back. I want to learn how this approach works since I teach a similar class. Did you change homework formats? Are they still required?

Who is thinking that Democrats are not demanding enough as conditions for supporting a CR? And what about the appropriation bills to follow?

Two. And a half. Million. Deaths. Each year.

The old Twitter got me through a rough patch at work. If people had not DM’d me about their experiences, I would not have been empowered to advocate for myself.

The acting CDC director has now approved ACIP recs allowing anyone 6 months+ to receive an updated Covid-19 shot after discussing w/ their provider. If you are on the fence about getting an updated shot, read my in-depth take on the evidence we've accumulated on these vaccines. #publichealth
Do additional COVID vaccines really help?
We've accumulated a lot of scientific evidence in the last few years.

We just spent 6 months to add 1 figure to this paper. Some people said, "Couples aren't prioritizing men's careers. Men just have better earnings opportunities when moving."

Earnings effects of moves for couples on the left, singles on the right. Negligible gap between single men and women.
Event study coefficients that show that men's earnings rise more than women's among couples following a cross-commuting zone move (left panels). The pattern is muted or reverses among single men and single women (right panels).

A growing economic debacle. It does not have to be this way. Wise and visionary public policy can channel migration into lawful, orderly pathways.
