Gender affirming care for trans people is safe, effective, and has a lower regret rate (4%) than almost any major medical procedure. It saves lives. These are facts. The right's talking-points are recycled "they are coming for your children!" scare tactics well over fifty years old at this point.
New research finds trans teens have high satisfaction with gender care
The survey published in JAMA Pediatrics showed that trans teens taking puberty blockers or hormones had very low rates of regret.

Which views the BBC considers unacceptably political in its presenters is particularly telling, isn't it?
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

You know who I haven't seen face problems being platformed on Meta's sites? GC/TERFs. Hate groups like WDI & WoLF are safe spreading their bullshit on sites like Facebook while Meta censors feminist & queer groups that actually help people. Really shows who's the real threat to patriarchy/tech bros.
Meta has removed or restricted dozens of accounts belonging to abortion access providers, queer groups and reproductive health organisations in the past weeks in what campaigners call one of the “biggest waves of censorship” on its platforms in years.
Meta shuts down global accounts linked to abortion advice and queer content
More than 50 organisations report sites being restricted or removed, with abortion hotlines blocked and posts showing non-explicit nudity triggering warnings

Anyone who admires Emily Maitlis needs to read this. Closing the Tavistock clinic & subsequent removal of accessible trans healthcare support for kids is one of the biggest scandals in modern Britain.

They've changed it back again now, but changing a quote is a huge red flag. The BBC are repeatedly demonstrating that there are ideologues directly interfering with the meaning of stories they report relating to trans people, and this should be a far bigger deal than it is
In this piece, admitting the BBC has broken its impartiality rules re. trans people, the BBC further breaks its impartiality rules by changing a quote saying "trans identity" to "trans ideology".
Martine Croxall broke rules over 'pregnant people' facial expression, BBC says

Tommy Robinson / Stephen Yaxley-Lennon using the same argument as Maya Forstater?

How closely intertwined are transphobia and the far right going to get?
A District Judge has cleared Tommy Robinson on a terror charge because he found Robinson had a protected belief. How does that pass the 5th limb of the Grainger test?

Honestly think saying Starmer acts because he hates trans people gives him too much credit. He's repeatedly showed himself to be weak and steered entirely by others. He acts against trans people as he's been told it will play well politically and he doesn't care.

Still fucking sucks for us, though.
Starmer has just ended, by dictatorial fiat, a harm-reduction policy that protected minority groups dating back to the murder of Stephen Lawrence, because he hates trans people.
1993: Stephen Lawrence is murdered by racists.
1999: The MacPherson Inquiry recommends recording of non-crime hate incidents.
2005: After the Discrimination Law Review, non-crime hate incidents begin being recorded by UK police.
2025: Mainstream transphobia ends a harm reduction policy that worked.

The whole point of human rights law is that the Government can be held to account when they breach people's rights.

If the Home Secretary doesn't like it, that's why she needs to hear it.
Woah! So Labour's position really is, 'telling us off for breaching human rights undermines the case for human rights'? Proper Trumpian stuff from Labour's answer to Suella Braverman.
