The median INS agent did not carry a weapon on their person.

The median ICE officer carries both a long and short gun.

They were heavily militarized based on an absurd premise that Al Qaeda was going to "invade America" in meaningful numbers for the actual reason of disciplining labor

I dunno, I think something about our news media isn’t working quite right

everything company named after something from Tolkien is deliberately marketed and crafted with an image designed around making some imagined critical theory tech commentator clutch their pearls as a way to distract from the fact that they are flim flam men selling shit that largely doesn't work.

Notable mother-in-law story right from the jump: "Do you like collard greens? My friend whose fiance was a vet—he killed himself, they fixed up that nice victorian house and then he killed himself in a hotel room—she had a shindig recently and those were the only collard greens I've liked"

A lot of well-meaning progressives on this site have been funding slavery in Myanmar and Cambodia in the unshakable conviction that every dollar they give is instantly being translated into food magically making its way past a military blockade by the most competent armed force in the Middle East.
I just assume any accounts doing that are probably Myanmar forced labor scammers and instablock, and it's depressing that people haven't figured out that nobody legit is spamming people that way

honestly I think that we should pass a law denying the protection of any federal law to anyone who received a pardon from Trump. nothing done to them by any other person should be criminal.
GOP operatives Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, convicted election fraudsters, were paid $960,000 in the second quarter to secure a pardon for a former nursing-home operator who defrauded the government of $38 million. Trump pardoned the man, Joseph Schwartz, last month.

Even some of the president’s closest advisers have been surprised by a number of the recent series of pardons.

It's incredible how much of this stuff is just out in the open, but because Trump said "Russiagate hoax!" 5000 times, the media was brainwashed into treating it like a nothing story instead of one of a ten alarm scandal
Tenet Media founder Lauren Chen, who secretly took money from two people with ties to Russian state media to involve conservative influencers in an unwitting propaganda scheme, is back in the US after being deported to Canada under President Biden. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

there should be a movie where a woman from a small town begrudgingly goes to the big city for the holidays and falls in love at first sight with ethiopian food
In the hallmark movies where the lady goes back home from the big city, they never talk about the game she must play pretending that the ethnic food in the small town is anywhere near as good as her family thinks it is. Just grimacing while eating mid Thai food.
