The sign on Kristi Noem's podium reads "One of ours, all of yours." The reader will recall that this was a fascist rallying cry in the Spanish Civil War. What it means is that one of "our" people is worth all of "your" people.

I really think this is true. When we care about one another, when we form communities based on compassion, we can fight and resist most effectively. Because they can't do that and communities based on cruelty eat their own.

I can't describe how bad Minneapolis feels right now. My neighbors are pulling kids out of school. The public schools are offering remote learning until 2/12. We are having conversations in our alleys about how to protect ourselves. It feels like a military occupation with a blockade.

god, there’s apparently ICE agents in Bemidji, in northern MN. Bemidji is between my reservation and two others. there is very little diversity besides the Indigenous population.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says 29 people were arrested in downtown last night during a noise demonstration at a hotel reportedly housing ICE agents: "For those that are taking the bait and causing property damage or otherwise, there are consequences. We're holding the line here all the way."

The past couple days have made it clear that arresting and prosecuting Johnathan Ross isn’t just the right thing to do, it is necessary to prevent future violence by ICE who have interpreted the situation as “we can do that to whoever we want”

I was not exaggerating yesterday when I posted this. Our local group went from less than 50 people to well over 200 in the last 24 hours. And that’s just one suburb.
There are hundreds more showing up, observing, patrolling and organizing in the surrounding suburbs. Today only galvanized wanting to protect each other
