I’ve been saying this for seven years now but you can’t abandon the elderly, immunocompromised, vulnerable to death or disability in just this one little instance. Once you shut off empathy to a group of people for your own benefit, the valve is closed. You will find more reasons to abuse them.

To be clear, there are almost as few cis male allies on the left abt this as there are on the right, because society at large doesn’t see women as fully human and they do not have the countervailing experience of actually being a female human, and there are no structural incentives for male empathy.
MetaFilter had several vicious fights between people who were directly affected by state-based reproductive coercion and cis men were dedicated to just asking questions and talking rationally and had clearly never in their lives had to spend a moment's thought on reproductive risks
If you own reproductive organs that the GOP is currently trying to commander as forced-birth factories, then I can’t blame you for being not-chill about birth rate discussions.
