Photos were taken by mintdrakenier on 🐦 & IG - many creatives were involved, so check out their posts on how it all came together!

the sunburst suit.

inspired by the life and death of krypton.
a grown kal-el ventures into space, flying faster than light to the farthest reaches of the universe to watch it happen himself. the last photons from the long-dead rao rest above his heart, a final gift from his home.

Are there contexts where people of color US citizens are privileged? Absolutely. But being persecuted by their own government is not one of those contexts.
The level of racism and transphobia and shear callousness involved in people outside the US looking at what the US government is doing to people of color and trans folks here, some of whom are US citizens, and saying “these people are privileged” is intense

This reminds me of white people asking why Black people weren’t outraged & taking action against drugs & crime in the 1990s. Except we were & we did. Interesting to see this dynamic repeated in a way that scapegoats white Americans.
I remember how I was asked, live on German television, a mere 48 hours after No Kings II: “Why are there no protests?” And three months later, as the people of Minneapolis are standing in solidarity against the outrageous occupation of their city, I’m still getting that question in most interviews.

Reminder that when companies force RTO, they're basically doing soft layoffs.
Bleech, Ubisoft's also ending all remote work, will give workers an "annual allowance" of WFH days.

I lived in Brooklyn Park for 7 years. The police there are well known for profiling Black and brown residents.

If *they’re* complaining about heavy handed detention tactics, you know there’s a big issue at hand.
Brooklyn Park police chief Mark Bruley: "We're hearing people being stopped with no cause & being demanded to show paperwork to determine if they're here legally. We started hearing from our police officers the same complaints. Every one of these individuals is a person of color... it has to stop"

If any of y'all (white people anywhere on this planet) had listened when we said this country WOULD eat itself in service to racism, your "Black people aren't exempt from USian hate," might hit a little harder.

You didn't hate the US when they helped you oppress other places for mutual benefit.
It's a macro example of what's going on inside the country. The US finally expanded from terrorizing Black and brown people in the Global South to terrorizing their white neighbors. Only one of these things is a problem for the broader population.
The U.S. has truly become the bad guys. NATO having to protect against a NATO member is insane.

'Why aren't they in the streets' is answered almost every day in my small town by people in the streets! Rather than asking 'why aren't they in the streets' it's worth asking 'why isn't your media showing them in the streets' and 'who is served by downplaying resistane in its myriad forms.'
The idea that there are no protests in the US and no one is standing up to Trump is proving incredibly hard to kill over here in Germany. It’s become dogma, utterly detached from empirical reality.

I wonder if the people who keep talking like that understand they’re perpetuating regime propaganda.

Tfw Americans only recognize Europe as "the rest of the world" lmao. You can come to Brazil pretty easily. It's not illegal to be undocumented here and you won't be deported. Also SUS is free for anyone on BR soil. But it's a jungle monkey country so 🤪
It’s cute when non-Americans think we can just leave the country and move somewhere else to escape all this, as if their governments haven’t also made their immigration processes just as cruel and slow.

The thing about being black and American is you’re fucked over by America, not respected outside of America, not wanted inside or outside of America

But they want you to be ok with being a sineater

No fuck off

I keep thinking of Ferguson while yall say black people are just as responsible

Minneapolis and Saint Paul have basically mobilized into a war economy of mutual aid and non-violent defense. I’ve never seen anything like it, even during Covid. People who barely vote are guarding their schools from ICE and doing the shopping for neighbors in hiding.
This is so smart. I’m so impressed with all the different ways you’re helping your neighbors.

on the one hand i think the american response to criticism here is kind of petulant and sad, on the other hand, a lot of the criticisms seem to both ignore the action that is taking place and expect a sort of action that can't take place
