It seems like a lot of people in politics just don’t know that appealing to the right was a strategic choice premised on being able to EXPAND your coalition rather than an attempt to appeal directly to the majority so they keep being shocked when they piss off the people who actually liked them
I mean look at these graphs - 82% of 2024 Green voters disapprove of Starmer, 64% of LDs and 53% of the Labour voters *who explicitly voted for him less than two years ago.* That is not normal. I suspect it may be unprecedented.

As I’ve been saying, Dem candidates really need to take seriously the imperative to fix public education, or Rs will take advantage and destroy it. We can support educators and serve students, but we need to admit there’s a problem.

Disappointed to see Jon Stewart & co joke about masking in public. I do it for my medically fragile daughter (Batten Disease). People not masking properly led to her getting pneumonia, which led to her being on life support, which led to me getting price quotes on her cremation just in case.

As an artist, that’s kind of a depressing thing to hear. I would much rather make work that lives on in people’s hearts and memories than something that makes a ton of money but doesn’t make anyone care, and it’s sad to hear so many people trot out, “He makes more money than you do” as a defense.
