Interested in comedy and space and leaving the “bad place” behind. And speaking of bad places, The Good Place season 3 is really super relevant to regular people being moral in a modern society, and I love everyone that brought that into my life.

When writer and tech entrepreneur @anildash.com first heard about Wikipedia, his reaction was:

“Well… good luck to those guys.”

That was 25 years ago. Now, he recognizes Wikipedia’s unbelievable collective generosity and reflects on how it’s adapted to each new era of the internet.

If you want to fight to protect digital privacy, there is no better organization to support than @eff.org, which has been defending people's rights here for decades. I'm on the board, but I joined *because* this work is so vital. Call your reps, and follow the tips EFF publishes to protect yourself.
please remember: part of why anti-ICE movements across the country are able to function as well as they are is because they are able to get the news out and get support via the internet

therefore, doing your part to pressure your reps to defend internet speech is one (of many) ways to help!
Please continue to contact your representatives and urge them to:

-oppose age verification laws
-rescind existing AV laws
-protect peoples rights to use VPNs
-protect section 230

many people are going to be tempted to say this proves the weakness of peaceful protest. this is incorrect because it assumes this happening is a failure of peaceful protest rather than the mechanism by which it succeeds
It's hard to overstate how ell-organized the portland march that got gassed was... organizers made the crowd promise to be peaceful, said the march would slow in front of the ICE building but not stop, that we would stick to one chant (ICE Out). They did absolutely everything right and got gassed.

the civil rights movement did not win by awakening the secret virtue of Southern whites by appealing to their better nature. it won by producing a demonstration of their brutality Northerners could not ignore

Correct.
You could add up all the corruption in US history from every Administration and not even sniff Trump’s year in office.

Every other President in history gets impeached unanimously for this. Every one.
WSJ: “.. The deal marked something unprecedented in American politics: a foreign government official taking a major ownership stake in an incoming U.S. president's company."

Abu Dhabi poured a secret $500 million into Trump’s company.

Then Abu Dhabi got the highest end AI chips that it had coveted (which could then go to China).

& the Trumps took steps to try to cover it up.

This should rank among the greatest US scandals ever

Also, just a reminder that Epstein was arrested in 2006 and pleaded guilty in 2008.

The majority of files from the latest release are dated beyond 2008.

This means the people communicating with him were doing so after it was known he was a pedo, had registered as a sex offender, and served time.

1. The new batch of Epstein documents helps illuminate one contemporary controversy: What is Bari Weiss up to at CBS? I think the answer is she is trying to rehabilate the Epstein network as a bulwark of reactionary centrism. Let me explain.
