if only there had been a movement and momentum several years ago to downsize police budgets, clear out the white supremacists and de-militarize local law enforcement
The elephant in the room is that mayors and governors across the country have very good reason to question the loyalty and allegiances of the state and local police forces and that’s one of the impediments to doing anything about the current occupations

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says 29 people were arrested in downtown last night during a noise demonstration at a hotel reportedly housing ICE agents: "For those that are taking the bait and causing property damage or otherwise, there are consequences. We're holding the line here all the way."

Just a legitimately generational political talent. Whatever happens, a whole cohort of young progressives gonna have a bit of Mamdani voice the way he (and a lot of millennials) got a bit of Obama voice. I'm hopeful Zohran will be a lot less shit though!

I dunno, FOP, if cops actually did get charged with crimes and held to reasonable standards of conduct that don't constantly let them off the hook, more people would be inclined to let them have their day in court. But that's not how it goes.
