Hello Bluesky! These are my comics. Scripts by me, art by wonderful people. You can buy them physically from freaktowncomics.bigcartel.com or digitally from globalcomix.com/a/freaktown-....

Alt text includes a brief description of each book.

Please take a look.

Please share this post. Thank you.
Ooh blimey, there's a lot going on here. The covers of eight comic books are arranged in a 4x2 grid under a Freaktown Comics logo in white on a black background. I won't try to describe the complex images, but I'll describe the comics.

From top left, we have Hairy Tales, which is an autobio comic about my teen years. Deadly Burlesque, a proto-slasher murder mystery. My 22 Always Works, a high concept noir told entirely in splash pages. Hairy Tales and Bald Truths: 22 Short Stories About Russell Hillman, a collection of autobio anecdotes.

Bottom row, we have The Best "F" In Comics, a collection of my short stories in various genres from humour to horror. The Dark of the Forest, seventies-set monster mayhem. Fast and Frightening: A Comic About Roller Derby is, unsurprisingly, a comic about roller derby. Finally, there's Slashermania, which is an epic slasher horror story.

Thank you for reading, please check them out if they sound like your sort of thing.

The Orphan Crusher is here to stay. If we don’t feed more Orphans to the Crusher the Orphan Crushing industry will die. It’s time to wake up to the reality of the Orphan Crusher. The Orphan Crusher is worth billions. We need to teach people to use the Orphan Crusher. It’s here to stay.

I don’t think some younger people get how weird it was to find out that Busta Rhymes and Snoop Dogg were huge Benny Hill fans.

It’d be like finding out Kendrick Lamar and Glorilla were big fans of The Brittas Empire.

Fuck off Kate. You have a nanny for grown children, cleaners, don't have a job, assistant, personal hairdressers, and are loaded.

You know what does damage family life more? Poverty. Put your literal money where your mouth is then I may take you seriously.
Kate warns too much screen time damages family life.

Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.

Israel highlighting how many 100s of aid trucks they will now allow into Gaza is a tacit admission that they were using aid as a weapon of war, by the way. seems weird not to talk about this

Hi. I’d like to report a deranged and delusional man in the White House who’s inciting violence and represents a danger to public safety. Can law enforcement please handle this matter?

Remember all of the ghouls who denied this was happening and did everything they could to make the problem worse from JK Rowling to Wes Streeting. The NHS who did a stitch up report to hide the growing number of suicides from trans youth on the waitlists. They should never be forgiven.
Screenshot of a PinkNews article headline reading “17-year-old trans girl’s suicide over NHS wait times was preventable, coroner rules.” The article is dated October 9 and written by Amelia Hansford. The PinkNews logo appears at the top in pink and black.

I *really* want more reporting on this because the book was pretty heavily vetted by lawyers in advance of publication….

This is so damn scary. The book claimed that Jeffrey Epstein was the one who introduced Donald and Melania. Now the CEO of Harper UK is out.

I'm entering my 60s and the one constant throughout my life has been the nasty, divisive influence of the Daily Mail on society. I think it has been a debilitating malady infecting our nation and should be dismantled.

100% this. It’s a tidy up rewrite and another couple of hundred grand in the budget away from being regarded as one of the properly classic 80s genre flicks.

I know people like LIFEFORCE for one reason only, but I think it's a genuinely wonderful sci-fi horror.

Alan Moore doesn’t hate comics. It’s obvious on its face that he doesn’t. Now does Alan Moore hate unrestrained capitalism and faux-scarcity and middle-men who never made anything but money? And is there a lot of that about in the comics industry as constructed? Well. Those are different questions.
alkennedy.bsky.social
Any time I see someone say Alan Moore hates comics I think no, it is not comics that Alan Moore hates, it is you, the person who says Alan Moore hates comics, that Alan Moore hates, and then I think no, Alan Moore simply does not think about the person who says Alan Moore hates comics at all
comicbookherald.bsky.social
If Alan Moore is such a grouch who hates comics, why is he so frequently loving the medium and giving pull quotes any creator would die for?

One of the most frightening things about Trump's fascist coup is how many people don't realize it's a fascist coup.
