Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.

Remember all of the ghouls who denied this was happening and did everything they could to make the problem worse from JK Rowling to Wes Streeting. The NHS who did a stitch up report to hide the growing number of suicides from trans youth on the waitlists. They should never be forgiven.

Alan Moore doesn’t hate comics. It’s obvious on its face that he doesn’t. Now does Alan Moore hate unrestrained capitalism and faux-scarcity and middle-men who never made anything but money? And is there a lot of that about in the comics industry as constructed? Well. Those are different questions.
