This is so much bovine excrement.

Increased violations warrant increased fines, because the fines are the deterrent to doing things poorly.

We discount things that we want people to do more of. So why does Las Vegas want Elon Musk and Boring Company fucking up their environment more?

Be a ruthless, pragmatic extremist when it comes to curating your social media, podcast, & video feeds so they give you resources supportive to your recovery.

Life is too short for the stupid rage bait dopamine hamster wheel the algorithm is trying to feed you.

Recovery first.

Very often our traumatized nervous system registers feeling controlled, trapped, or "in trouble" in nuanced ways that aren't immediately observable.

If you're having a trauma flavored reaction, check in to see if or how your inner self is picking up on something subtle.

I’ve read The War Between The Pitiful Teachers And The Splendid Kids, and I’m fairly certain this is exactly what the Status Quo Solidifier did to people.

All of these people give off “I have met many humans, and Ted Cruz is one of them” energy.

I am certain that this new generation of conservatives cares about common human interests, like lowering taxes, football, the cost of hatching care, and whether or not to hibernate in the wintertime.

people on here apparently need to learn a lesson most of us learn in elementary school, which is that it’s fucking rude to correct people on zero stakes things and doing so leads rightfully to social ostracism

I've been working on an essay about The Struggles of TTRPG Outreach and Fandom but I think this tumblr post just captured the whole sentiment im like 100 words.
Fact: Apart from pure recognition factor, one of the major reasons your fanart gets more eyes on it than your OCd is because people are perverts for narrative context, and your OCs don't have any.

Corollary: you don't actually need to write a whole-ass graphic novel to achieve that narrative context. You do need to know what your OC's story is, but once you do, you can literally just draw contextless snapshots from that story that raise more questions than they answer and people will fill in the blanks.

I think part of the reason women seem to like waifu death squad when i show it to them is because I talk to women about the things they like and then I think about how I can put that into the game

you can just do that. just talk to women and find out what they like. it's very easy

Miyazaki: in this movie two young girls (one is a toddler) are uprooted from everything they know to start new lives near the rural hospital their mother is in; she is possibly dying of TB. Their dad works several hours away and they are largely unsupervised.

And I love seeing every one of them that wanders through my feed.

Artists making art that is fun is a form of resistance, because the fascists want us angry and afraid and burned out, and joy and respite push back against that.

Reality is horror.
So let us laugh and tell stories around the fire.

I love this perspective — this is why we support the arts and artists: we need these ways of looking at things.

A plural system going by Ica calling their system Representative Democracy, in an abusive BDSM relationship with a plural system of authright ultrawealthy fazhists going by Amer.

Ica has the power to stop it any time but they forgot the safe word. And 30% of them love the the abuse anyway.

Cis friends and allies: Do you see how "biological" is simply a slur when used by transphobes to demean trans people?

"Birth name" is a term we already have (not that that would be any more defensible, just less insane-sounding). "Biological" here is solely a dog-whistling cudgel against trans ppl

"The ones that are getting out are coming home to no home," Watson said.
According to her, after the raid occurred, building management stole or threw out residents belongings, including visas and important documents.

ICIRR is still trying to determine the identities of all the people detained in the raid. Castro said that the organization usually can do that by following up with family members or loved ones. "In this instance, there was nobody left to work with," she said. The only detainee name they're sure of is that of a person who passed their Venezuelan passport to a neighbor as they were being taken away.

Apropos of nothing: One of the most clean-cut divides between layperson British and American perspectives I've noticed is the general opinion of poachers.

in the UK, poachers are romanticized rebels, risking it all to feed their families.

In the US, they're assholes. Massive, massive assholes.

I liked when James Baxter used to do occasional guest spots on animated TV shows. I assume studios had a bat signal for him, except instead of a static bat it was a horse running in perspective towards the camera while the camera rotated around it

1. More Americans work at the Cheesecake Factory than in the entire coal industry, and that won't change. It's because of automation, not snooty libs.

2. Coal energy is now more expensive than wind and solar.

3. So this means: higher energy prices, more pollution, no jobs benefit. Genius!

Energy Secretary Chris Wright on Fox: "We're announcing today expanded programs to help the American coal industry. We're helping it because for years it has been under assault. It was out of fashion with the chardonnay set in San Francisco, Boulder, and NYC ... coal just makes the world go round."

Games like Silksong, as well as being awesome, also show us what a world with Universal Basic Income could look like: artists with no worry about where their next meal is coming from being able to put time, care, & passion into making amazing things, instead of slaving away in service of capitalism.
