specifically the modern insult usage stems from the sequel, Chud 2: Bud the Chud. in the first film the chud was one guy in a shitty monster suit. in the sequel though it was stupid idiots wandering around town and breaking stuff, causing problems. human vermin that need to get put down
Parenting achievement unlocked:

Got to explain to my teen how "chud" derives from the 1984 film C.H.U.D. [Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers]

Not headline news. No real fuss by Democratic leaders. No calls to censure. No pushback. No questions asked of GOP leadership by the press.

Just totally accepted anti-Muslim bigotry across the board.

To be politically conscious from 2000-2009, and more specifically from 2001-2005, was to have your brain stamped with a feverish Curse of Knowing. So when you see shit like this, all you can think is “Dick Cheney insisting on links between Al Qaeda and Saddam”. You never forget the scent.

The thing that's really convenient to not know is that nonprofits like Feeding Our Future exist because the nutrition reimbursement program is so burdensome IN THE NAME OF REDUCING FRAUD that a cottage industry exists just to fill out the paperwork on behalf of programs that actually feed children.
Let's review the facts at hand here: A Democratic administration discovered and prosecuted a case of welfare fraud. Republicans are now using this case to smear hundreds of thousands of immigrants and militarize an entire city.

And your conclusion is that Democrats need to do something different?

I’m the one in the brown hat.

What you might not see is the victim in the car. His feet are pointing out the open car door. An agent is sitting on one of his legs. He’s only wearing crocs.

Bystanders found his legal work visa in his abandoned car.

#AbolishICE
This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.

The author can't even make his own argument without including a bunch of "to be sure" paragraphs that negate the entire premise. Not only are Dems serious about tackling fraud, but these efforts sometimes prevent recipients from getting it! If anything, the system is *too* focused on fraud.

I would really love to see a book about MLK similar to Lincoln’s Body, about how his image has been used (and abused) after death as a stand-in for the whole civil rights movement, and as a way to place it safely in the past.

I feel like America plotting to annex Greenland while masked state goons terrorise their own communities at will should encourage British press and politicians to reflect on what happens when you act like "far right" is an unfair slur rather than a necessary descriptor of a real political position.

Actually I think it's the precise opposite of clear what a prospective candidate for high office thinks if he refuses to articulate what he believes something is or is not and what he would or would not do to change the situation.

I work with state parties every single day. There are only a handful of national leaders who actually raise real money for the year organizing state parties do--Ken Martin (dnc chair), Simon Rosenberg (Hopium), Sen. Warren and Actblue. Come for Simon and you come for all of us.
I'm not interested in arguing with the good people of Minnesota, on the front lines, doing the hard work of protecting our democracy. I've worked hard to bring your bravery and courage to the world in recent weeks on Hopium.

But attacks like this are false, defamatory, and need to end. 1/

I put myself through the entire interview. Trust me when I tell you that Gavin "dank memes" Newsom agrees with him on EVERYTHING. I literally says "I agree with you" on EVERYTHING. Ben "extremely unpopular even with MAGA" Shapiro gets very combative with him and Gavin capitulates EVERY time.
Ben Shapiro: "Israel did not commit a genocide in Gaza"
Gavin Newsom: "I agree with you."
